Our company history
Since 1947.
From specialty products
to steel construction.
Plas-Tal Manufacturing was formed in 1947 and spent its first years producing specialty products made of plastic and metal. In the early 1950s, Plas-Tal entered the construction marketplace. After completing its first project, the company continued in structural steel fabrication and erection, building a number of Los Angeles and Orange County schools.
The company later expanded into industrial construction. Projects at the Santa Susana Field Laboratory and Vandenberg Air Force Base for companies such as Rockwell and McDonnell Douglas were among its work during the early 1960s. In 1963, Plas-Tal moved from its Hollydale facility to Santa Fe Springs, California.
For the next two decades, Plas-Tal focused on industrial steel construction. Work continued in aerospace and expanded into local refinery and material handling projects.
In the mid-to-late 1980s, the company began seismic repair and upgrade work following several Southern California earthquakes. Additional personnel and steady growth supported further expansion into commercial construction. Since then, Plas-Tal has continued to serve both the industrial and commercial construction industries.
